There are so many attractions in Uganda which can be explored on a self-drive trip. Driving your self gives clients to visit places which are remote or off the beaten tracks; they can be recommended by fellow visitors found on different destinations, the freedom of not following the tour plan, will make a visitor explore more.
On a self-drive trip in Uganda, visitors can visit primates of Uganda. These include Mountain gorillas and chimpanzees. Mountain gorillas can be tracked from only two national parks, Bwindi and Mgahinga National parks, well as for chimpanzees; they can be seen from many places like Kibale National park, Budongo forest, Kalinzu forest, Kyambura gorge, Ngamba Island and etc.
Wild life can also be explored on a self-drive trip. There different wild animals in 10 National parks of Uganda and many game reserves. On a game drive, visitors can see elephants, lions, leopards, Hyenas, warthogs, antelopes, birds, and etc. Some of the national parks include Queen Elizabeth National park, Murchison falls National Park, Lake Mburo and etc.
Exploring water bodies and rivers, most self-drive clients do not miss to visit Jinja to see the source of the Nile and also explore other water activities like rafting, Bungee Jumping, swimming, and etc. On the way to Jinja, visitors may decide to have a stopover and visit sezibwa falls, mabira forest and etc.
Mountaineering in Rwenzori and Mount Elgon. Visitors can drive themselves, to the lodges near the mountains, leave the car at the lodge or park headquarters and then start hiking the mountains. There are different trails to the highest peaks of Rwenzori or Elgon. Visitors are also free to choose either they hike up to the highest peak on stop on the way and explore other peaks. The highest peak on Mountain Rwenzori is Margharita and for Elgon its wagagi.
There are different accommodations in Uganda, ranging from Budget to Super luxury lodges, visitors on self-drive are free to choose among the lodges depending on the level, booking can be done by the visitor or tour company. Lodges offers rooms like single, Double, Twin, Triple and family rooms. The rooms are also classified, standard rooms, Deluxe, suites and etc.
